![]() I think I will start using my RT-N66U anyways, but until I can get that it would be nice to have this network working properly, if possible. In addition measures the speed on the computer (2.4 used) to be 5mbps/4mbps, while on the ipad using the 5GHz, I get 15/10, or better. Complying with IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, the device can use the 2.4GHz or 5GHz channels and provide wireless speeds of up to 450Mbps which is ideal for users. Tried once to use IP, netmask and gateway-settings in use on 2.4ghz when connecting to 5ghz, then it says "internet access", but really there isn't, no pages load. TP-LINK’s 450Mbps Wireless N Dual Band PCI Express Adapter, TL-WDN4800 allows you to connect a desktop computer to a wireless network and access a high-speed wireless network connection. Right click it, and select Update Driver Software. Find and select the adapter, it might be in the Network Adapter or Other devices section. Remove and install driver, still driver installs with error, but device appears in manager. Using the TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band TPLink N900 the 130 Mbps signal was indeed stable and I could see more wireless connections in my neighborhood than the Edimax but who cares Most of the time your success will only be based on channels 1, 6 and 11. Right-click on My Computer on desktop and select Properties Click Device Manager on the left side. Repair driver, driver installs with error, but device appears in device manager. Restarted the router several times, by turning off and on again, and by logging in and restarting. I suspect there is something wonky on my computer end, rather than the router. However, all my other devices, apple TV, iphone, ipad, allplay-speakers can use either band, no problems at all. ![]() I also had some problems the first time connecting to the 2.4 band, but after doing the troubleshooting it found out something was wrong with the DHCP I think (knowledge of this stuff is limited, as you probably can tell by now). The 5GHz I can't connect to, and using the troubleshoot-functionality in win7 does not help me. That basically means that TP-Link is counting on generic chip drivers and do not have dedicated driver of their own. In my old apartment everything worked perfectly, but in my new one, I can only use the 2.4GHz-band network provided by the router. I contacted TP-Link (China) and determined that even though the driver states it is for Win 7 & Win 8.1 it also works for Win 10. In my new apartment, I use a Zyxel P8702N router, just because this is what is provided by the ISP. I recently moved, in my old apartment I used a Asus RT-N66U router and the TL-WDN4800 in the computer end.
